Baby milk - due to a change in adoption laws in Ghana, the orphanage has a large number of babies. Powdered milk is very expensive. It cost about £80 per baby per month. The orphanage cannot afford this and sometimes has to choose between paying for electricity or milk. We have found a local supplier of powdered milk who will deliver to the orphanage for free. If you can afford to give a donation every month then this will go to buying much needed milk. Please contact us for further information (see link below).
2 years ago, Simon's Mango Tree bought 8 new cots for the orphanage. We used local carpenters and mattress suppliers as we believe that money should be put into the local community. As the number of babies has increased, so has the need for more cots. Each cot costs £120. Please help us.
Doctors' accommodation - we are in an advanced planning stage to build a house for a doctor at the village clinic. This will give the villagers and their neighbours access to a fully staffed clinic 24/7 and may encourage the local government to upgrade the village clinic into a local health centre. The cost to build is £7000. Please help us.
November 2019 - we are planning a further trip to Ghana. As well as taking 2 surgical teams, we will be taking builders to install specialized play equipment in the orphanage. The equipment has been designed by a specialist in child development and psychotherapy. The equipment will cost £2500. If you can help with this then please donate (see link below).
We are always looking for help, whether financial or logistical and we are happy to take medical and humanitarian donations too as we regularly ship to Ghana. If you have something to give us, whether it be a donation, a fund raising idea or some of your own experience then please contact us.
