Simon Siman Derbie - President Simon is the senior operating department assistant at Northwick Park Hospital. He is originally from Guo in the Northwest of Ghana and is the driving force and founder of the charity. He was trained as a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Jirapa. He has a long history of charitable giving to the region which predates his work with the charity. |
Mike Brunner - Chairman Mike is a consultant in anaesthetics and intensive care at Northwick Park Hospital. He has visited Ghana on numerous occasions and is passionate about targeting aid based on the needs of the people there, as well as encouraging self sustainability. He is proud to be a member of the charity. |
Solange Micallef - Director of Operations Solange has been the Theatre Information Manager at LNWH Trust for the last 14 years. She is pivotal to the smooth running of the charity. She has many roles including administration, fundraising and the collection and packing of the vast amount of donations that we receive. Solange first visited Ghana in 2012 and has been back on numerous trips. She has always found the people to be kind, welcoming and above all warm and friendly. |
Neville Robinson - Trustee Neville is a Consultant Anesthetist at Northwick Park Hospital. He visited Ghana with Simon in 2013 and together they visited and noted the success of all the projects. In particular they were pleased with the humanitarian aid to the Wa Blind school and the school in Guo. In 2014 he raised money for the Charity by running in the Blenheim Triathalon. |
Andrew Castello-Cortes - Trustee Andrew is a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at Northwick Park Hospital. He and his son, Christopher, visited Ghana for the first time in 2012. Andrew was the driving force behind the concept of the school kitchen. Andrew is a founder member of the charity and continues to work tirelessly for our cause. |
Jacob Brunner - Project leader Jacob is a Partner Development Manager at StreetInvest, working to establish a global network of NGOs committed to delivery of effective street work in support of street-connected children. Jacob was recently based at UN World Food Programme. Jacob completed a masters in Development Administration and Planning at UCL, graduating in 2015 with Distinction. Jacob spent some time in Guo teaching the children in the school as there were not enough teachers available for the number of classes. Jacob with his experience in international development has given the charity invaluable advice for our projects. |
Makom Derbie - Mascot for Simon's Mango Tree Makom is the charity's mascot. She comes to all our fundraising events and always stays until the very end. She is a very popular member of our team and brings us a lot of luck. She always smiles and is very enthusiastic. We are very lucky to have her as the charity's mascot and friend. |
